The Cusco to Puno railway climbs from Cusco up onto the Altiplano and across to Lake Titicaca.

The train stops at the top of the highest pass for photos. Pictured in the observation car are Jon, Maria and Robert.

One of the settlements that the railway passed through. There are only about 3 trains a week and the local people set up their market along the railway tracks. Some produce is actually in between the rails.

Sue in the observation car.

Another market, everyone seemed to enjoy seeing the train pass, especially the children.

Looking back down the train.

Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. At 12,529ft (3820m) the lake is the highest navigable lake in the world.

One of the famous reed islands on Lake Titicaca. Everything is built from dried reeds.
